Coleman on the mend

Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino indicated in his Wednesday press conference that he was hopeful that defensive tackle Rod Coleman will be healthy enough to play opening weekend of the regular season. Coleman tore his quadricep at the end of April, and the initial prognosis suggested he would miss three to five months.

Coleman resumed practice earlier this week, but is not expected to appear in any preseason games. Petrino indicated the initial prognosis has not changed due considering that this is somewhat a rare injury, and doctors are leery about rushing him back.
