Ex-Seahawk safety has interest in Falcons
D. Orlando Ledbetter of the AJC reports that recently released safety Deon Grant has interest in playing for the Falcons. It remains to be seen if the feelings are mutual.
Grant was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, a day after his thirty-first birthday, after three seasons with the team. Grant’s play declined this past year leading to his release, despite sporting similar production to his two previous seasons in Seattle. He had 78 tackles and 3 interceptions this past year.
Grant has connections to the Falcons, being an Augusta, GA native, as well as playing under Mike Smith for three seasons while in Jacksonville. Grant began his career with the Carolina Panthers back in 2000. For his career, Grant has 26 interceptions.
