This week I’m benching Allen as co-host to bring in Andrew Parsons of Draft Mecca and Football Savages to talk about the draft. Andrew breaks down his thoughts on many of this year’s top edge-rushers and how they fit as potential picks for the Atlanta Falcons. We discuss whether or not Vic Beasley is on par with past elite prospects like Jadeveon Clowney and Robert Quinn; if Randy Gregory is worth the risk given his recent off-field issues; if Alvin “Bud” Dupree is the raw athletic freak that is worthy of an early gamble; why Dante Fowler is considered “safe” and if that’s a knock; which players could possibly fill the “Michael Bennett role” in Dan Quinn’s defense; and if certain highly-touted prospects are overrated. Andrew also shares his insights on whether who the Falcons ultimately take is going to be an indicator of which person holds the power within the Falcons front office between Thomas Dimitroff, Dan Quinn or Scott Pioli. Andrew also gives his thoughts on free agency, draft “turning points” and targets for the Falcons in the second round. We also discuss our desire to see the Falcons draft a “foundation” runner to help make Matt Ryan into a better quarterback.
