I am joined by Murf Baldwin of Saturday Down South to talk about the Atlanta Falcons and discuss the 2015 NFL Draft a bit more. I catch up with Murf and he gives his follow-up thoughts on the 2014 Falcons draft class and some of the things that went wrong for the team last year. Murf covers the SEC and gives his thoughts on several SEC prospects including: Todd Gurley, Amari Cooper, Dante Fowler, Shane Ray, Sammie Coates, Landon Collins, Chris Conley, T.J. Yeldon, Cody Prewitt and Jalen Collins among many, many others. We also discuss whether or not Thomas Dimitroff and Scott Pioli have abandoned the “Patriot Way” and whether that’s helped or hurt the Falcons over the past seven years. Much of our Falcons discussion centers on the importance of the free safety position, and in so doing we talk about whether the Falcons can survive in 2015 without strong play at that position.
Later, we get an exclusive interview from former New Orleans Saints defensive end/linebacker Martez Wilson, who is currently shopping himself in free agency. Wilson discusses the mutual interest between the Falcons and himself and what possible role he foresees himself playing should the team decide to sign him. He also gives his account on some of the reasons why he was unable to stick in New Orleans and how coaching turnover may have hurt his development.
