On this week’s podcast, Allen ducks out and is replaced by The Falcoholic’s own The DW and Matt Chambers. On this episode we discuss the Atlanta Falcons’ still remaining holes along the offensive line and at safety. We speculate about the (as of this recording, then unknown) Falcons looming free-agent addition along the offensive line, and whether Tyler Polumbus or Joe Barksdale would be the better move. We also break down whether either player is destined to play right tackle or left guard in Atlanta. We also manage to throw Sam Baker under the bus and whether he can (or should even be allowed to) make a successful transition inside to guard. We then break down what the Falcons’ attempt to claim safety D.J. Swearinger off waivers means, and whether that answers questions about the battle to be the starting free safety. Each of us weigh in on who we think will ultimately win the starter job between Charles Godfrey, Kemal Ishmael or Ricardo Allen and whether Falcon fans will be able to sleep well at night regardless. We stick with the secondary in discussing whether Dezmen Southward’s move to cornerback is a shot across the bow to Robert Alford, and whether his future in Atlanta is limited given the team’s offseason moves at the position. And of course we take the obligatory shots at Dunta Robinson, Kroy Biermann, Courtney Roby and Paul Worrilow that you have come to expect from this podcast. NSFW Warning for some language!
