Allen and I are back to recap the Atlanta Falcons’ season-opening win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night with Andrew Parsons.
But before we do, Allen and I got the opportunity to talk with legendary former Falcons linebacker Jessie Tuggle about the Xfinity X1 Sports app, his near retirement in 1996, his connection to Paul Worrilow, what made him so instinctual, his influence on both of his sons playing in the NFL and whether an earlier arrival of free agency would have prompted his exit from Atlanta.
Our review of the Eagles game was our first ever live broadcast on Rabble.TV, which you can check out by clicking here. During our discussion with Andrew, we broke down the play of Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Tevin Coleman and the Falcons new offensive line. We were all impressed by the defensive effort and each name some of our standouts including Justin Durant, Ricardo Allen and yes, even Worrilow. We discuss how much confidence we have moving forward with the team’s offensive line as well as what their defensive line rotation and front-seven depth could look like in the upcoming weeks.
When we switch gears to preview the Week Two matchup against the New York Giants, we discuss the potentially monster game that rookie Vic Beasley could have against Ereck Flowers as well as whether or not Desmond Trufant can handle Odell Beckham, Jr.
Our attention eventually turns to the recent addition of Jake Long and whether that signals a shortened leash on right tackle Ryan Schraeder, and if it could similarly apply to Mike Person. Allen and I finish with our typical around the league segment.
