Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that the Falcons only sent two representatives to the much-anticipated workout of Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan. Representing the team was director of college scouting Phil Emery and director of player personnel Les Snead. None of the Falcons chief representatives, including president Rich McKay, general manager Thomas Dimitroff, and head coach Mike Smith were on hand.
Robinson also reports that the Falcons are expected to work Ryan out in a private workout before the April 26 draft. Which could be a reason for the lack of representation since they will be able to get a longer and closer look at him at the later event.
Robinson indicated Ryan had a solid, not spectacular workout in front of scouts. Various reports indicate that representatives from at least 23 teams were on hand to view Ryan’s workout. It’s been reported that Ryan was able to complete 48 of 52 passes thrown in his workout. The four incompletions included three dropped passes and one overthrow.
