Falcons 2015 Training Camp: Day 14 Report

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsWilliam Moore

In one of the last days of Atlanta Falcons training camp, here are the collected headlines emerging from the 14th day of practice.

Injury Update

Players that returned to practice yesterday continued to show progress today as both running backs Devonta Freeman (hamstring) and Tevin Coleman (hamstring) got work in full-team sessions after being limited to just individual work yesterday. There is still no update on whether they will play in Friday’s preseason game against the New York Jets.

Linebacker Brooks Reed got his first full day of practice in two weeks, missing that time with a groin injury. Defensive end Cliff Matthews (ankle) also was able to bounce back with a good day of practice.

However, a few Falcons were not able to escape the day without their own injuries. Safety William Moore went down with a calf strain. Kemal Ishmael replaced him in 11-on-11 drills. Defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman suffered a bruse on his face and neck.

Running back Antone Smith (hamstring) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder) continue to be sidelined with injuries suffered last week. Trufant is expected to return to individual drills before the end of the week, and expressed confidence that he’d be fully healthy when the regular season starts little less than a month from now.
