CDC Needed in Locker Room

Apparently, a stomach bug is sweeping through the Falcons locker room. Jon Asamoah missed practice yesterday due to it, and the same illness sidelined rookies Vic Beasley and Justin Hardy today. Brooks Reed even caught some of it as well, although he’s also been limited with a hip/groin injury.

Freeman Injures Hamstring

Running back Devonta Freeman went down early in practice due to a hamstring injury. Undrafted rookie Terron Ward assumed the starting position. Antone Smith also made the most of his opportunity.

Collins Has a Rough Day

Falcons rookie corner Jalen Collins did not have the best days according to multiple observers. Collins missed time this offseason after recovering from foot surgery.

Odds and Ends

  • Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker LeRoy Hill was a visitor at camp. Hill, a native of nearby Milledgville, Georgia, played for the Seahawks from 2005 to 2012, working with Dan Quinn in 2009 and 2010 when the latter was the defensive line coach.
  • Paul Soliai is making his bid to be the starting tight end.
  • The man upstairs was in attendance for the first time this summer according to the AJC.
