Here is collected and collated headlines that emerged over the course of the eighth day of Atlanta Falcons training camp:

The Falcons honored children of fallen military parents today at practice, as players took the field hand-in-hand with the kids.

The team also gave Army veteran Collin Mooney first-team reps at fullback today. Mooney went to West Point and spent two years in active duty before beginning his NFL hopes in 2012.

Quinn Outlines Preseason and Rest of Summer

Falcons head coach Dan Quinn gave an update on what fans can expect to see during Friday’s preseason-opener against the Tennessee Titans. The team will also finish installing their playbook today.

Hester and Durant Injury Updates

Devin Hester’s name was added to the injury report of those players not practicing today. He was nursing a toe injury but is expected to return swiftly. Hester joins Brooks Reed (hip/groin), Cliff Matthews (ankle), Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman (both hamstring strains) as players that were out at practice. The others were seen working with team trainers on the sidelines of practice.

Linebackers coach Jeff Ulbrich also indicated that the limited reps that veteran Justin Durant has received thus far this summer have been due to his past injury history. Despite playing in the NFL for eight seasons, Durant has never started a full 16-game slate. He missed eight games last season due to a torn biceps. On average, Durant has missed four games per season.
