Falcons bulk up with Lewis

The Falcons drafted Division II standout defensive tackle Trey Lewis out of Washburn with the first of four sixth round draft choices.

Lewis (6’3″ 318) ran a 5.14 40 at his pro day and benched 225 pounds 21 times. He earned Division II All-American honors as a senior, with 62 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. For his career, he started 34 games, tallying 156 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 blocked kicks.

Lewis hopefully will add bulk and size to the middle of the Falcons defensive line, as they are potentially searching for replacements for Grady Jackson at nose tackle.
