Falcons contact Wisconsin linebacker

April 16th, 2010

In a blog entry for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin linebacker Jaevery McFadden indicates that the Falcons are a team that has interest in him. According to McFadden, the team asked for his draft day information, including his phone number and agent.

Such a measure indicates that the Falcons are interested in either drafting him or pursuing him as a rookie free agent.

McFadden led the Badgers defense the past two years in tackles, recording 74 as a senior and 84 as a junior. He played outside linebacker this past year, also recording 8.5 tackles for loss and a sack. As a junior, he was the starter in the middle, adding 2.5 tackles for loss to his production.

Measuring 6’1″ 240, McFadden reportedly ran a 4.78 40 at his pro day in March, also did 20 bench reps of 225 pounds, and recorded a 33-inch vertical jump.
