Scout.com reports that the Falcons along with several other teams attended the private workout of late round running back prospect Justise Hairston in March. Hairston is a powerful running back out of Central Connecticut State. NFL.com reports that representatives from 8 teams were in attendance to his workout on March 29.
Hairston (6′ 222) has 4.59 40-speed and finished second in the nation in rushing in Division I-AA with 1847 yards and 20 touchdowns last season. He spent three years as a reserve at Rutgers before transferring where he was overshadowed by fellow 2007 draft prospect Brian Leonard and Ray Rice. During his career at Rutgers, he appeared in 17 games, rushing 190 times for 696 yards (3.7 avg), 9 touchdowns, and catching 18 passes.
NFL Draft Countdown considers him a late round prospect and ranks him as the 26th best running back in this year’s class.
