The team announced today that long snapper Mike Schneck will go on injured reserve after suffering from a ribs injury and that he will be replaced with Bryan Pittman.
Pittman is a six-year veteran, that snapped for the Houston Texans from 2003 to 2008. Last season, he was among several players that were suspended by the league for violated their steroids policy involving the supplement StarCaps. Also included in that group was former Falcons defensive tackle Grady Jackson.
Pittman was signed by the Seattle Seahawks in the off-season, but was released in July.
Schneck has been the Falcons long snapper since October 2007.
