Phil Stukenborg of the Memphis Commercial Appeal writes that Memphis running back Curtis Steele has heard from the Atlanta Falcons, among other NFL teams that have showed interest in him during this pre-draft process.
Steele worked out with several other former Memphis players at the school’s pro day on Friday. Steele ran a 4.55 40 before suffering a hamstring injury at the end of the run. According to Steele, he had been running in the mid-4.4 range prior to Friday’s workout. He did 16 bench reps of 225 pounds as well.
Along with Steele, wide receiver Duke Calhoun had a nice workout. He ran a 4.44 40 time and did 12 bench reps.
Steele rushed for 1,239 yards and 15 scores this past season. Calhoun led receivers with 68 catches for 923 yards and 5 scoring grabs.
