Falcons lose two assistants

January 3rd, 2008

Two more assistants under Bobby Petrino won’t be with the Falcons next season, as offensive line coach Mike Summers and offensive quality control assistant Derrick Nix have joined the college ranks. Summers will join Petrino at Arkansas, while Nix will join the University of Mississippi. There, his older brother Tyrone is the new defensive coordinator at Ole Miss under new head coach Houston Nutt.

Summers and Nix are the third assistants so far to have found other jobs, joining Brian Van Gorder who has also rejoined the college ranks at South Carolina.
