Falcons make a change on practice squad

September 8th, 2009

The team signed former Iowa Hawkeye center Rob Bruggeman to their practice squad, replacing tackle Mike Butterworth. Bruggeman was an undrafted rookie free agent for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that was cut over the weekend. Bruggeman started one season at Iowa, his final year there, where he earned 2nd team All-Big 10 honors. Butterworth was an undrafted rookie free agent signing last season out of Slippery Rock, and finished the season on the team’s practice squad. He was re-signed this past off-season and was among the team’s final cuts on Saturday to get to the 53-man roster limit, before being signed to the practice squad on Sunday.
