Falcons RBs Freeman and Coleman Game-Time Decision vs. Jets

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsDevonta Freeman will be a game-time decision against the Jets

After today’s walkthrough, the Atlanta Falcons announced several players that were already ruled out for tomorrow night’s preseason action against the New York Jets. Head coach Dan Quinn has already ruled out safety William Moore (calf strain), center Peter Konz (knee) and defensive tackle Ra’Shede Hageman (concussion). The team will make game-time decisions on several other injured players including running backs Devonta Freeman, Tevin Coleman and Antone Smith (all three with hamstring strains), linebacker Brooks Reed (groin) and cornerback Desmond Trufant (shoulder).

Moore, Hageman and Konz each went down with their injuries this week. According to Quinn, it’s likely that some of those listed among the game-time decisions will sit but that decision has yet to be made. Freeman, Coleman and Reed all returned to practice this week, increasing their chances that they will see their first preseason action tomorrow night. However, some express doubt that Freeman and Coleman will play given their lack of involvement in today’s walkthrough. Smith and Trufant haven’t practiced all week, making it unlikely that they will suit up for the team.

Quinn also noted that the team’s starters will play more than they did in their preseason-opening win against the Tennessee Titans last Friday.¬†The majority of¬†offensive and defensive starters played a pair of series, accounting for roughly 10 to 15 plays against the Titans and presumably will go for at least the entire first quarter against the Jets.
