Linebacker Demorrio Williams will be tendered at the “intermediate” level according to AJC writer Steve Wyche. He will receive $1.3 million and if he signs with another team the Falcons will receive a second round pick as compensation.
Williams is considered a promising young linebacker that has starting experience at both outside positions. Although he’s often considered the heir apparent to Keith Brooking at weakside linebacker. He has played in every game since joining the Falcons as a fourth-round pick in 2004. He has made 26 starts in that span, including starting every game in 2005. He has 256 career tackles, 6.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
