Falcons Waive Mincy; Keep Manning For Now

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY SportsTerrell Manning

The Atlanta Falcons announced today after practice that cornerback/safety Jonathon Mincy has been waived. However, the Falcons roster still stands at 76 players ahead of Tuesday’s deadline to get down to 75 players because the transaction that was supposed to waive linebacker Terrell Manning from Sunday was never sent to the league office. So Manning remains on the team’s roster for the time being. The Falcons will have to waive another player by tomorrow at 4 p.m. Eastern.

Mincy was an undrafted rookie free agent out of Auburn that spent time both as a nickel cornerback with the Falcons this summer as well as playing free safety. Manning was signed by the Falcons on August 16. The Falcons mark the eighth franchise he’s been with since entering the league in 2012.
