Falcons will work out McClain
Ralph Vacciano of the New York Daily News reports that Alabama linebacker Rolando McClain will visit with the Atlanta Falcons.
McClain is widely considered to be one of the premier linebacker prospects in this year’s draft class. He is listed as the top inside linebacker by both NFL.com’s MIke Mayock and ESPN’s Mel Kiper. McClain entered the draft after a strong junior season in which he recorded 105 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and 2 interceptions.
While the Falcons don’t appear to have interest in a middle linebacker due to the presence of Curtis Lofton, it may be possible that the Falcons will work out McClain in order to discover if he could play other positions on their defense, such as outside linebacker.
