Ed Thompson of Scout.com reports that USC wide receiver Damian Williams is scheduled for a workout with the Falcons on April 10.
Williams (6’1″ 191) shined the past two years as a starter at Southern California, combining for 128 receptions, 1879 yards, and 15 touchdowns. He also was a successful punt returner during his Trojan career, scoring two times in only 25 career returns.
Williams recently performed at USC’s pro day where he stood on most of his Combine numbers. In Indianapolis, Williams benched 225 pounds 19 times, jumped 38 inches for his vertical, and ran 6.79 seconds in the 3-cone drill, which were among the best at the wide receiver position.
Williams isn’t overly big or fast, but was a reliable go-to target in the Trojan offense the past two seasons. The Falcons interest in him could be as a potential challenger to starter Michael Jenkins down the road. He is widely considered a potential second or third round pick.
