I know this gut had a historic first 2 starts and he ate up our team last year, but what has Kevin Kolb proven? Is he really worth what the Cardinals invested in him? He stunk it up against the Packers and lost his job to Mike Vick.

I know he has potential, but my question is, when has this guy shown that he's worth going all in?

I think Kolb should be a good starting QB, but I don't think he's going to be better than say Matt Schaub or Matt Cassel. I think like Schaub, he's going to be limited with his ability to challenge downfield, which will limit how successful the offense can be, and without Ryan-esque intangibles to back that up to kill in the clutch, then you're stuck being an above average to good QB most weeks, but rarely great.

He's an upgrade, but I think the Cardinals were foolish to give up 2 good assets for him. They traded the 2nd round pick for him, and then threw DRC on top of that and I think that was a mistake. Most know my "theory" on good corners & secondary, and when you have 2 potential Top 10 ones like they do have with DRC and now Patrick Peterson, throwing in Kerry Rhodes and Adrian Wilson, you have what could have potentially been over the next few years a secondary that could rival that of the Packers. And to give that up for anotehr Matt Schaub, IMO wasn't worth it.

Instead, they should have just given up a pick. If they were that high on Kolb, then just give the Eagles a 1st rounder and keep DRC, but they got fleeced. And if the Eagles insisted on getting DRC as part of the deal, then I would have called up Denver, and offered them a 3rd for Orton.

Kolb has more upside than Orton, as Orton isn't even as good as Schaub or Cassel on their good days, but if it means I can keep DRC then, that trade-off is worthwhile to me to improve the QB position that can get us back to a .500 or better level, and still maintaining the foundation of what could be an emerging defense in the years to come.
