DC Mel Tucker will serve as interim head coach for the Jaguars the rest of the season.

Dang, I thought they would at least let him finish the year. Well another team in flux on our remaining schedule. With the play of Hanie and the Bucs & Lions falling apart at the seams do you still think we will miss the playoffs on a tie breaker Pudge?

I'm definitely more optimistic than I was a few days ago, but we will have to see. The Falcons have the capacity to run the table or go 4-1 the rest of the way. I guess I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not writing off the Giants or Bears yet. But if GB, Detroit, KC, Arizona, and the Falcons take care of business this weekend, then I'll be a lot more optimistic.

I think you can stick a fork in the Giants. With the injuries considered, the NFC is the Saints, GB and everybody else.

I still think that's premature. Here is the Giants remaining schedule:

13 - vs. GB
14 - at Dallas
15 - vs. Washington
16 - at Jets
17 - vs. Dallas

They have 2 games against the Cowboys that are pivotal. A head 2 head sweep and they are in a good position. I still believe they are the team most likely to beat the Packers for the rest of the season because they have a good pass rush and have an offense that can/should be able to move the ball vs. the Packers. And they definitely can beat the Redskins and Jets.

If they lose their next two, then I would say they are done, but until then, I still think they are in the thick of it.

Wow...lotta ifs there, Pudge, but after going to GB and watching them beat the Packers in the NFCCG a few years back and then whip the Pats in the SB I know better than to count out Eli and crew. They remind me of the Falcons a bit...a little underwhelming but then you look after the smoke clears and there they are. The loss to Philly said a lot though.

I just think too often we use each week as a referendum on team after a win or loss. The Giants don't look good right now coming off a rough loss to the Saints. THey aren't perfect, but none of the NFC contenders are outside GB, and they are even flawed (on defense). Like my brother was talking last week about the 49ers might be in trouble after their loss to Baltimore, and I was like "Whoa dude, they still have 4 NFC West games left to play! San Fran is gonna be alright!"

Playoff races over the last 6 or so weeks of the season are always interesting. Some teams choke, some teams rise to the occasion. I don't see any reason why the Giants can't be one of the latter teams.
