It's likely that the Falcons will lose that after the Saints game, but WOW! Like I've bee saying since October, this defense deserves so much props. They have their problems but this defense battles so hard and makes so many plays. It helps playing rookie quarterbacks but give these guys their props. All the media still thinks their a weak link but they are completely wrong. Next week will be a measuring stick to see where this defense stands. But they deserve lots of love this year for how they've played.

Yep, the defense has been the strength of the team this year. Certainly if measured by consistency.

The issues with the Falcons is not their 2011 defense, but it's their 2012 defense. Will they be able to maintain and/or build off the gains they've made this year, particularly with significant potential for turnover up front and in the secondary. The Falcons pass defense went from below average last year to above average this year. Will they regress next year?

This does not surprise me. The D has been pretty solid since pre-season--unlike the O. The huge 3rd down conversions they give up aside they have been stingy and opportunistic and, unlike teams from the past, have a few guys who are not afraid to bring the wood.
