Sounds like Jim Irsay is cleaning house. And I imagine Jim Caldwell won't be too far behind those two. Chris, you should have never turned down the chance to interview with the Falcons, because 99% certain you would have gotten the gig from Arthur Blank. :naughty:

Colts Sweep Polians Out Of Front Office

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has cleaned house, firing Vice Chairman Bill Polian and his son, Vice President and General Manager Bill Polian, ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports.

Irsay will meet with the media at 5pm ET.

Polian was in his 13th season with the Colts, overseeing "all football and administrative aspects" with the team. Under Polian, the Colts won seven division titles, made the playoffs 10 times in 11 seasons and appeared in two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XLI after the 2006 season.

Chris Polian has also been with the Colts since 1998, first as the team's Director of Pro Personnel before he was promoted to his VP/GM in 2009. Both Polians received contract extensions in 2009 that ran through at least the 2012 season.

The Colts named Dennis Polian their Director of Football Administration last offseason.

Irsay is expected to address the future of head coach Jim Caldwell this afternoon. Caldwell, who has been with the Colts since 2002, serving as quarterbacks coach/assistant head coach before he ascended to the Colts' head coaching position when Tony Dungy retired after the 2008 season. In three seasons under Caldwell, the Colts went 26-22 and were 2-2 in the playoffs, but were just 2-14 without the services of Peyton Manning in 2011.

The Colts have the No. 1 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, which is expected to be used by someone on Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck, and will need to make a decision on whether to exercise a $28 million option bonus in Manning's contract by March 8.
