my thoughts on the game last night

Postby jayfalcon7 » Wed Dec 14, 2005 1:45 am

i was encouraged with our offense. vick, when running, can keep drives alive. our receivers played SOOOO much better.

However, our defense has been the real problem this year. Our running defense played poorly until the Saints had to air it out in the second half.

I think Chicago will have success running on us- it's really up to the offense to keep with them and for the defense to bend but not break. It's possible for the Falcons to win in snowy Chicago (remember Packers in the playoffs). The Falcons seem to play better when they are on national TV (three monday night games and thanksgiving). I predict a close game- probaby most people that are not falcons fans think the falcons will lose.

Also- everyone says falcons don't have tie-breaker with dallas and minnesota? Though this i strue with dallas- the falcons have beaten minneosta head to head? i don't get it.

It is H2H in regards to Wild Card teams for a tie break with two teams:

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM
If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.
If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

Two Clubs

Head-to-head, if applicable.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss.
Fear the BEARD!
