FFL Champions

Postby dirtybirdnw » Tue Dec 27, 2005 12:02 pm

As everyone knows we had two FFL leagues going on this season and the champions have been decided this week. I wanted to thank the folks that participated for a good season. Next year we will consolidate the leagues into one and possibly expand it to 12 teams. I am also taking requests to do a off-season fantasy league (college or legends) that should take us through the course of the off-season. I believe it would cost $10 per squad.

I think next year for my fantasy team, I'm going to shoot to go after an All-VA team. Try to pick players born in the state of Virginia (or went to HS in the state). It would be a pretty solid team, not great, but pretty solid. Here's the players:

QB Michael Vick, Falcons
QB Aaron Brooks, Saints
RB Rudi Johnson, Bengals
RB Tiki Barber, Giants
RB Thomas Jones, Bears
RB Julius Jones, Cowboys
RB Lee Suggs, BRowns
WR Plaxico Burress, Giants
WR Ernest Wilford, Jaguars
WR Kelley Washington, Bengals
WR Ronald Curry, Raiders
WR Billy McMullen, Eagles
TE Heath Miller, Steelers
TE Erron Kinney, Titans
TE David Martin, Packers
K Shayne Graham, Bengals

Of course, it would be probably impossible for me to get all those top players, but I think I'm going to try and structure my draft board for next year based around those players.

Interesting strategy. I wonder if I should construct a board for an all PAC-10 team next year. It would be an interesting change o'pace from the typical 'draft the best available' approach.

I went 2 for 3 this year. I'm still not sure what went wrong in the ESPN league for my squad. I had a solid team. I guess injuries to runningbacks and Torry Holt did me in. Of course it didn't help that I had to gamble so often on a Questionable or Doubtful injury status. I think I had at least 1 player every week or so not play despite a positive outlook during the week and generated 0 points for me.

Injuries have always ruined my FFL seasons. I get to the championship and all my point generators are on the bench or out injured and I lose the championship. Meh.

well I came into the season with Steve Smith and Larry Johnson picked out as my sleeper picks.....I can honestly say I nailed that one!!!! They are the reason I did so well in most of my leagues.....

in our league though I have no idea how I managed to win to be honest....things just sorta worked out that way...
