Brees & the saints reached a 6 year deal

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the New Orleans Saints have reached a six-year deal with free agent QB Drew Brees (Chargers). Financial terms of the deal are not yet available.

ESPN.com's Michael Smith reports free agent DE Kalimba Edwards (Lions) has re-signed with the Detroit Lions. He signed a five-year, $20 million contract, with $8 million in guarantees.

Well this makes the division a lot more interesting. We now have 3 Pro Bowl QBs in the division, and with Chris Simms coming along in a year or two it may be 4. Makes the need to get a guy like Abraham just even greater.

Can't sleep on the Saints anymore. Brees throwing to Horn, handing off to McAllister. That instantly upgrades their offense from inconsistently dangerous to ALWAYS dangerous!

And having a division that boasts Deuce McCallister, DeShaun Foster, and Cadillac Williams makes getting a guy like Milloy all that much more important as well.
