I've read contradiction reports Marcus Mcneil is visiting or perhaps not. Whats the word on Mcneil. The Falcons if they want their offense to improve better get a left tackle and Mcneil fits the bill. Are the Falcons going to sit on their hands and let other teams take the players we want? It sure feels that way which equals another perhaps playoff entry and exit in the first probably.

TD isn't finding the talent we need through the draft which is how goodo teams stay on top or get to elite levels. I used to have good feeling about TD but lately he hasn't done the job and just making the playoffs isn't enough. If you want to be elite you need the talent and while it takes time to find the talent the Falcons seemingly aren't making good progress to achieve elite level in the near future.

Sidenote, sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Living on a ship using other computers is a hassle since it asks for the password alot which I don't have memorized .It means going back and forth trying to get my password from email account. I'm going over to the Far East next week and Europe for 6 months so it will be tough getting Falcon news other than the internet. I'll always come back to the board to see what you guys are squabbling about though so I won't be to far away.

The Falcons seem to be rather happy re-signing their own free agents and making almost no new signings and doing nothing to improve this team in anyway shape or form.

Manuwai is certainly an upgrade but at his age is nothing more than a stop gap. Tatupu is nothing more than a stop gap and isn't an upgrade (nor a down grade) vs. Lofton. The only downside to that move is that Atlanta now adds another position that must be infused with youth in the near future. Dent might be able to take over as the starter at MLB but I don't have a lot of faith in that.

I'm not to terribly torn up if the Falcons don't get into the McNeil race simply because it would appear on the surface that his injury problems are going to continue to be a hinderance. I'd hate to invest any significant dollars into someone that is going to be Sam Baker 2.0 but with more talent.

I know the Falcons don't have boat loads of cash and this free agency class isn't exactly loaded; but, the Falcons seem to be content doing nothing. I'd like to see some urgency or show of effort that they are trying to improve this team. The draft this year is good for adding depth as we are without our 1st & 3rd.

I'm growing frustrated with the Falcons this offseason... If the goal was status-quo I'd give the Falcons brass an A+ on that front. But the goal is to improve the roster and at this point their grade is more like a D- or even an F.

We shall see what the rest of free agency and the draft shake out.
