3 more added, and Schiller among them.
Chase Coffman, Schiller, and S Mark Legree. I remember Legree at App State a year ago, thinking he was a pretty good late round prospect for an FCS guy. 5th round pick by SEA a year ago, got cut by them at the end of camp, and spent time with SF, NYJ, and ARZ practice squads. Re-signed by SF after the season, and cut on 8/11, then signed by CHI on 8/20 and then cut by them on 8/31.
I really like Schiller's potential to become a solid backup for this team in the future. Like his instincts that he showed this summer. Not the bigger or fastest guy, and probably thusly will never really become anything more than our version of Chase Blackburn, but I do think he's smart, and should be able to develop into a solid ST guy in the future if given a chance.
I do think it's intersting that so many of the guys we picked up after the start of training camp, Toone, Polite, and Coffman actually stuck with the team. I don't know exactly if that is an indicator of how good those guys are or more an indicator as to how weak the guys we already had at their respective spots were. Is it a coincidence that WR, FB, and TE were 3 of my chief complaints of how the Falcons hadn't done enough to bolster depth at those positions and/or weakened the position by cutting a viable starter???
