Best Falcon ever? For me, it's between him, William Andrews and Deon Sanders... Thoughts...others?

I was barely alive when Bartkowski played. So the first QB I was exposed to as a Falcon fan I recall was Chris Miller. So sorry, can't comment on him specifically.

I'm not sure how you rate who was the best. It would seem most people outside Atlanta would probably say it was either Nobis or Claude Humphrey considering those are the only 2 Falcons besides Deion that are getting into the Hall. Tuggle would also have to be high on the list.

But if I could only judge from the players I've seen play, it's got to be Deion.

Nobis and Humphrey are going into the Hall? That's news to me.

Ah yes,...the Bart. What a great passer he was. He threw the most beautiful spirals that will ever be tossed. He was drafted the first player overall in 1975, I believe, from UCLA, I think. He played behind an atrocious line that often let defenders get through barely touched. So, of course, he was injured often early in his career.

The best Falcon ever,...that's a tough one. Am gonna have to go with,...Jeff George. Nah lol seriously,...I'll go with Jessie Tuggle, a guy that led the league in tackles on awful defenses for many years.

I meant to say "have a chance at getting into the Hall."

Terrance

Postby MarylandFalcon1 » Mon May 08, 2006 7:46 pm

You know, this may kind of be out there but I would like to put up the name Terrance Mathis. I my opinion Mathis was money, and if I am not mistaken holds nearly every recieving record the Falcons Franchise has. He helped take us to a Super Bowl (remember the NFC championship game 'drive'), and he had the famous 'Run Terrance, RUN!" Play to end the season with a win against the 49ers and get us into the playoffs in 95.
"I am certainly not afraid to have Brian Finneran on the field. Has he ever not made plays? He just makes plays. He is one of those guys that just makes plays. He is dependable."

Bart wasn't tops in my book, but he was in the top 5.
Tommy Nobis was the very First Falcon, and will always be #1 to me.

I say Tugle and Nobis are the best falcons ever. then again I have a soft spot for Linebackers.
