Raiders could shop McFadden

We hear GM Reggie McKenzie’s frustration with the Raiders’ running game has been directed more toward the blocking of the offensive line than the team’s top back, Darren McFadden, who has battled injuries and struggled when relatively healthy this season.
The Raiders’ running game is among the lowest ranked in the league and it has produced a league-low three rushing touchdowns.
One of first decisions Oakland has to make this offseason is whether to keep offensive coordinator Greg Knapp. Knapp’s zone-blocking system has not been the best fit for McFadden, who has one year left on his rookie contract. However, our sources expect the Raiders to dangle McFadden in trade talks this offseason, especially if Knapp returns. Indications are McKenzie believes McFadden can bounce back from a down year and get back to the form he showed in 2010 and ’11 before injuries cut his season short, but the GM also would be open to listening if a team showed a willingness to part with a draft pick, or picks, for McFadden’s services.
The question is what would the Raiders’ asking price be? And how much interest would there be in McFadden after he has missed 13 games over the past two seasons and is coming off a season in which he has gained a career-low 3.3 yards per carry?
