Titans, Abraham stuck in holding pattern

The John Abraham to the Tennessee Titans situation appears to be in a holding pattern for now.

Titans coach Mike Munchak said the club has spoken with Abraham and the two sides continue to talk.

But if Abraham is to become a Titan, then he has to not only fit into what Tennessee is doing defensively but also financially.

Abraham, 35, visited the Titans last Thursday and Friday and remains an option, but not yet an urgent one, according to Munchak.

“We're looking. We talked to him and spent some time with him, looking that what we want, what he wants, what kind of fit it could be. So we've just been talking to him. He obviously hasn't made a decision. I don't know how quickly he plans on making a decision,” Munchak said. “I don't think there's any big hurry there. It's a business thing, but we've talked to him, and we're talking to him, and we know what kind of player he is and has been. He's still productive and he's gonna be playing in this league. We all know that, it's just a matter of where it's gonna be.”
Abraham had 10 sacks for the Atlanta Falcons last year, but was let go in the off-season as a cap cut.

A report from ProFootballTalk.com indicated that Abraham also still sees himself as an every down player. If he signed with the Titans, his role would likely be more that of a situational rusher behind starters Derrick Morgan and Kamerion Wimbley.

Munchak sounded less inclined when asked about bringing in former Colts star Dwight Freeney in for a visit.

Seems that Abraham might be a bit delusional about his career at this stage.

anyone would want as much money as they can get, but old guys can not recover like young guys.

Abraham can not play every snap and last the season physically.

He could not be a situational guy with Atlanta and hold up the entire season, so how could he do more at a year older?
