The Falcons bring Peters back with a one year deal

The Atlanta Falcons today announced that they have signed defensive tackle Corey Peters to a one-year contract.

Peters, 6-3, 310 pounds, was selected by the Falcons in the third round (83rd overall) in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. He has played in 56 career games, including 53 starts in four seasons in Atlanta. Peters has recorded 140 tackles (107 solo) with nine sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and five passes defensed. In 2013, Peters started all 15 games in which he played while tallying 48 tackles (35 solo) with a career-high five sacks and two passes defensed. Additionally, Peters was named the Atlanta Falcons 2011 Walter Payton Man of the Year.

A nice prove it deal, not mad at that at all. I am interested to see the terms of the deal.

Me too, he probably could have gotten a 2-3 year deal with someone else. I like his loyalty, and he has a great year this year we better pay him.

Corey Peters deal broken by @caplannfl is 1 year, 1M base, 500k in per-game bonuses and 100k in a playing time incentive for 65% of snaps.

That is a really nice deal. Good on TD for making that happen.

Very nice job by TD, that's very cheap for a potential starter.

Unless the Falcons draft or sign a DT Peters will be starter.
