I wouldn't mind seeing Bailey get a shot at being a FS, but Byrd getting 9m/yr? I would be furious if we paid a safety that much.

It's one or the other I would guess. I'd put my money on Bailey if Atlanta is trying to be frugal. They could have him for an Osi sized contract (2 years @ $8 Million).

So virtually every decent FS is signed now? Who we gonna get, and will it actually be an upgrade? I'm thinking more and more that our second pic will be a safety.

Props to NBC Rotoworld for the list of available FA's... all the options above Decoud that are left suck as bad as him other than Woodson who is a million years old and only wants to play in Oakland.

1. Jairus Byrd (Signed six-year, $54M deal with NO)
2. T.J. Ward (Signed four-year, $23M deal with DEN)
3. Donte Whitner (Signed four-year, $28M deal with CLE)
4. Antoine Bethea (Signed four-year, $21M deal with SF)
5. Chris Clemons
6. Louis Delmas (Signed one-year, $3.5M deal with MIA)
7. Malcolm Jenkins (Signed three-year, $15.5M deal with PHI)
8. Stevie Brown (Re-signed one-year, $3M deal with NYG)
9. Michael Mitchell (Signed five-year, $25M deal with PIT)
10. Nate Allen
11. Major Wright
12. Charles Woodson
13. Steve Gregory
14. Thomas DeCoud
15. Nick Collins
16. Ryan Clark
17. James Ihedigbo
18. Bernard Pollard (Re-signed two-year, $6.3M deal with TEN)

I'm thinking we sign Champ Bailey to learn the position and draft a safety round 2.

That is the only logic I can see behind the move at this point. I could see Atlanta adding a safety as late as the 3rd or 4th round. I think the 1st and 2nd rounds will be OT and LB.

Probably. Jimmie Ward, who was on the North team in the Senior Bowl.
