Are you serious about Youngblood? Big with good hands, but slow as hell. He's alright, but he's not going to be a guy that can come close to replacing Finneran.
Frankly, no player is going to really replace Finneran. I mean at best, we might be able to get a player that can give us 75% of what Finn gave us. And IMHO, the only available (or likely available) player that comes close is Ricky Proehl.
Rogers has a lot of upside, but playing 3rd or 4th fiddle here in Atlanta is not going to be the right place to develop it. If we're going to go after a Lions WR, it should be Mike Williams, who is actually a very good fit in our offense.
Rogers not making the Lions as the #3 or better is a very telling sign. And you're right Rogers wouldn't pass the Falcons filter.
You'r right, Rogers has fallen hard. When he came into the league in 2003, I thought in a few short years he could outshine Randy Moss, but now he's like 3rd string.
I would take Mike Williams in a heartbeat. Regardless, I do seriously think we need a vet as our #3 and I'm not referring to Jerome Pathon. Just like the safety position we have very little behind our starters from what I have seen so far.
