Flutie should be an option

Postby Pudge » Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:53 pm

I know I'm in the minority, but I still think it would be a major mistake if the Falcons do not bring in a competent veteran backup this year.

Recently released Doug Flutie I think should be an option. Other players I'd like to see the Falcons pursue are Tony Banks, Brad Johnson, Jeff Garcia, Charlie Batch, Shaun King, Chris Chandler, or Jeff Blake.

I really think that allowing Schaub to enter training camp this year as the uncontested No. 2 QB could come back and bite the Falcons very hard. Schaub's development will only progress if he's pushed, and having a guy like Ty Detmer or some camp fodder bum like David Rivers is not going to cut it in terms of competition.

it would be a good plus to get any of those guys in camp
i dont see Chandler comin back and Garcia would want to much money or playin time but Johnson King or Banks i think would be a great option here
