I have to say that I didn't get to watch as much of this game as I wanted to because unfortunately other matters were consuming the majority of my attention, but I do have to say from what I saw, I wasn't overly impressed with the Falcons performance. But when am I ever?

I've always given Knapp the benefit of the doubt, but the draw call on that two-point conversion had to be a bonehead move. In goalline situations, I've been a firm believer in the success of the West Coast offense, as guys like Bill Walsh and Mike Shanahan have made careers for their tight ends by getting them the ball in these situations. A simple play-action fake/QB rollout and hit the TE (Dwight Clark or SHannon Sharpe most often) in the back of the endzone seriously works at least 80% of the time I've seen it performed. I was saying to myself that this team should have tried to get Blakely the ball in that situation. Instead, we give it to Warrick Dunn, a move reminiscen tof the goalline debacle of 2002 when Dunn was given 3 chances to score and couldn't. Dunn is not a goalline/short-yardage back, and anytime he receives the ball, the chances of success are very small.

I think from what little I saw of him, I was a bit more impressed with Schaub's poise. His accuracy was not great at all times, but he looked like he could become a solid QB in this league. And I still maintain this. Within 3-4 more years, I believe Schaub may be getting a chance to start elsewhere in the league. I know similar things were said about DJ in his early days in Atlanta, but considering Schaub was a consensus Top 5 QB in this past year's draft, and DJ barely ranked in the Top 10 by most analysts I think show a larger degree of talent.

I don't like the idea of ending the regular season with 2 straight losses, but I guess we'll remember to put an asterisk by these two since we didn't really put our best units out there.

I don't think these final 4-6 weeks really did wonders in improving my outlook for the playoffs either. I know little more than a month ago we were all looking for more offensive consistency down the stretch, I don't think we saw it. Despite scoring 69 combined points vs. Oakland & Carolina, I'm not thinking our offense is that great going into the post-season. Has there been improvement? Yes, but I don't think enough has been shown to the point that we could call our offense consistent. IMO, it's still inconsistent.

But let's hope the do or die atmosphere of the playoffs will change that. I suspect we'll be seeing the Seahawks again, and this time we'll get to show them what we are really made of.

I also do not like heading into the playoffs on a losing streak.The Partiots won again so they know the meaning of momentum. I feel the falcon's holding back obviously to protect there starters so the last 2 games don't mean alot,lets hope not.

I could not understand also why use Dunn at the goal line.Duckett has proven he is a load to bring down yet sits on the bench.I hope Mora wises up and goes with what got him there instead of ping and ponging with Dunn.He gets knocked down with an arm tackle.Feely, I still do not have confidence in this guy over 35 yds.Fortunatley this year I can't recall him making a pressure kick but I do remember a few yrs ago when he cost the team about 3 wins.

Price played better I am glad and Vick looked like he was starting to get in a rhythm.I hope Vick learned a little from Schaub on how to make the screen pass even though he did it earlier in the game.I feel Vick needs to slow down and not try to rush things and let the game come to him.I don't know if it is learning the new offense or he just takes longer to read the defense.

Our secondary is bad and evewn though we do well against the run the other playoff teams QB will blister the falcon pass defense.The falcon def line still isn't getting enough pressure on the QB.The safety play of Scott has really regressed and we need to draft someone farily high.

The offensive line they can open holes for the run but they probably are last in the league in pass blcoking.Just terrible and also to many dang penalties which could cost us in a playoff game from the off line.I think Gibbs needs 2 off tackles and a guard to remake the line.At first I was blaming him for poor pass blocking from our linemen but I realize it isn't Gibbs fault we just have no talented players on off line.

Yes, our secondary inspires me with little to no confidence. The only thing that I am confident about is that they tend to cause at least 1 turnover per game, but unfortunately my confidence in the offense to take advantage of those turnovers is not that high either.

I have been a firm supporter of Feely, but I too am growing tired of his act. I do think the team should re-sign him, but I wouldn't exactly empty the wallet to do so. I would also like to see the team bring in a veteran like Wade Richey. Richey has only kicked 2 FGs in the past 3 seasons, and has been a KO specialist in that span. He's one of the league's best kickoff guys and has a career 90% accuracy in domes. That right there is enough evidence that he is worth a shot. At the very least, the real competition forces Feely to step up his game a notch.

I'm not a fan of drafting kickers since it takes so long for young kickers to have a high impact in the league. There are a few exceptions like Janikowski and Kaeding, but those guys only come into the league every so often.

Feely is a grass/outdoor kicker. We won't be truly satisfied with this position until we find a dome kicker, someone that was like Morten Andersen. We could bring Andersen back this year, but that wouldn't solve the position long-term, just maybe for 1 year.

well i would have to say with Vick gone shortly in the first quarter that Matt played much better this week
but it was not the best of games headin in to the playoffs
it was a plus that Alexander did not run all over us
i think that is a plus headin into the playoffs
and Hall played very well agaisnt Rice
yes he is not the Rice of old but it might do a big boost for Hall
but i feel much better going in to the playoffs than i would if i was a Eagles fan
with out TO they have showed me nothing
McNabb can take over a game but can his WR and Def play well behind him?

win would have been better but we have a week to get healthy and work on things

Green Bay or The vikings ?

you should be able to see every play off game i dont know why you would not each game is spaced out to not start at the same time on the same channel
or is something different in the bay that i do not know about

I'm not too keen on facing the Packers. Although there defense does very little to scare me, I wouldn't be too happy about seeing their offense match up with our defense. The Packers have arguably the league's best O-line, and if we couldn't get pressure on Favre, he along with Driver and Walker would absolutely torch our secondary. Not to mention another guy named Ahman Green capable of doing things.

I'd much rather face either the Rams or Seahawks, since both teams really haven't played that well against us. Of course that could change since both teams have the potential to be very explosive offensively, but I think in a home contest against either team, the Falcons would have the major advantage.

We shall see. Which among those 3 teams really comes out and plays well next week. The Vikes really don't scare me, but Moss could do some serious damage. After all, guys like Moose Muhammad and Joe Horn had outstanding games against our secondary, I couldn't imagine what Moss would do.

We'll see. The only NFC team that really scares me is the Eagles. And without T.O. they look vulnerable, but remember that defense is potentially very tough, and when they needed to be they've stepped up their play in the past when the team was lacking on offense. People are talking about what will the Eagles offense do/adjust w/o T.O., but remember that it is almost identically the same offense they've had the past few years, so it's not like these guys don't know how to play together. They are really only missing Duce Staley and James Thrash, neither of whom were outstanding players in Philly. So the Eagles will be just okay without T.O. Will they be able to easily put up 28 points a game? No. But they really won't have to because I suspect that defense will only be giving up 10-17 points per game in the playoffs.

I think a potential matchup with the packers could benefit the falcon's in playing them instead of the other teams. The Packers are a scarier team because of Farve but lets face it,it will prepare the falcon's better than the other teams if the eagles win there game.I rate the Packers offense even better than the Eagles with Owens out.The Packers defense against the falcon's offense will be an interesting matchup.If the falcon's offense is playing there A game they will score alot.

Whoever we face the falcon's need to reve up the motor and be focused.Not make stupid mistakes like the offensive line has been doing being called for penalties.Also Dnatrell I am sure he wants to get even with his former team for letting him go.

I mean in all likelihood we will be facing the Packers, unless Minnesota upsets them. I understand your reasoning. Part of me wants a tougher NFC foe so that in case we do reach the big games, we'll be more prepared. But also a tough game takes a lot our your team, so that's a downfall. But the other part of me, wants a week NFC field, so that it is easier for us to make that big game.

But I'm confident the Falcons can beat any team in the NFC right now. We'll see how this week shapes up.
