Andre Davis traded to New England

Postby Pudge » Wed Aug 24, 2005 1:13 am

Just interesting in that Davis was Vick's favorite target during their brief time together at Tech, and supposedly Davis had been shopped for several months now. Meaning that if the Falcons wanted to get a speedy wideout that has some baseline chemistry with our QB, they could have done so.

I'm interested to know if McKay & Co. had any interest in a deal. Davis, who is fast, but inconsistent could potentially be a steal for a 5th round pick.

I always kinda hoped we could get him. Vick & him were money at VT.

But when you think about it, it just gives us more of what we dont need. Another #2 WR, but still no #1 reciever. Still......imagine the deep balls :)

Still... Jenkins/White/Price/Finneran/Davis is better then Jenkins/White/White/Price/Finneran me thinks. But Dez does understand the offense something Andre would have had issues with.

I think some of Davis's inconsistancy was a result of injury. I am not sure since I don't follow the browns that closely. I'm sure he would have made a decent addition but as some said earlier we have plenty of #2's. I think our WR are set for the next couple of years anyway....but for a 5th, good job NE
