The Jets announced today the Kevin Mawae, their Center, is done for the season. He ranked 3rd in games played without injury (178) and is the key to their offensive line. Also, Vinny had a passer rating yesterday of 34 with 2 INTs.

Bad news, Curtis Martin had his best game of the season.

But losing Kevin M. will hurt Martin just as much as it does Vinny.

we saw what losing a pro bowl center did to the Vikings...let's hope it can have a similar effect...not that the Jets are nearly as poorly coached as the Vikes, but losing a good center can be a huge hit to an O-line....

The big effect I think will beo n the Jets ability to stop Coleman. Comboing Rod with Mawae and either guard (Kendall, but mostly Brandon Moore) could have meant trouble for Rod. But with I'm assuming Goodwin taking Mawae's place, then it means Rod could really have a big game. As could Lavalais.

Mawae is a great player, possibly a HOFer, and you hate to see guys get hurt, but it definitely helps the Falcons. I suspect the Jets will still be able to run the ball against us.

Not at all. When Pennington was truly healthy your team looked like a Super Bowl contender. If anything, letting all those players go to the Redskins started a bad trend for your team, but that was beyond Herm's control. Honestly, Herm is a very good if not great coach in my eyes. Your team is suffering from injuries & a bad front office more than anything.
