As every year, try to have people vote on the best (and worst) performances of the season with the FalcFans.com Awards. Won't put the polls up until after the season is complete, but here's a preliminary list of nominees I was thinking for each award.

Not really fishing for people to tell me who they think should win, just if you have any additional names you want to add, or think there is another category that should be added (or removed). I added some new categories at the bottom, and I'll need some help with those...

I’m always a big fan of the awards ever since 2009. These are fun and I like overlooking great seasons like this one. The one thing I really disagree with is Brent Grimes being a disappointment. How is he a disappointment, he got hurt in the first game. That’s just pointless also not a fan of Sean Weatherspoon being on the list as well. Nobody is going to vote for Weatherspoon or Grimes. Anyway I’ll help out with offensive and defensive performance, this is my top 5 for each. If you fully agree, use it or take parts. Other than that, the nominees are great. Best games are also spot on.

Offensive

Week 1 vs Chiefs: Matt Ryan 299 yards 3 TD’s 0 INT 136.4 Passer Rating

Week 4 vs Panthers: Roddy White 8 catches 169 yards 2 TD’s

Week 5: vs Redskins Tony Gonzalez 13 catches 123 yards 1 TD

Week 8 vs Eagles: Matt Ryan 262 yards 3 TD’s 0 INT 137.4 Passer Rating

Week 12 vs Bucs: Julio Jones 6 catches 147 yards 1 TD

Defensive

Week 2 vs Broncos: William Moore 8 tackles. 1 sack, 1 INT, 2 pass defensed

Week 3 vs Chargers: Thomas DeCoud 3 tackles, 2 INTs, 3 pass defensed

Week 6 vs Raiders: John Abraham 3 sacks, 1 FF

Week 10 vs Saints: Asante Samuel 2 tackles, 1 INT, 3 pass defensed

Week 13 vs Saints: William Moore 11 tackles, 2 INTs, 2 TFLs, 2 pass defensed

I'm not so big on the awards, I like less people.

Comeback- Sam Baker

If we didn't have a rookie that deserves Rookie of the Year; I'd just as soon leave it as
None; if Konz was a disappointment?

Don't hardly see how Douglas was a disappointment, or Weatherspoon. Joe Hawely
was a big disappointment to me after the experience he had last year. I also thought Babs played below his potential.

Best game was against either Denver or the Giants.

Best new coordinator Dirk K.

Falcons shutout of New York best moment.

Roddy White & Tony G. Mr. Consistent

Matt Ryan MVP

THOMAS Decoud----Most improved, Kroy Biermann (honorable mention)

Most unappreciated--- Julio Jones

So I'll add Gonzo's TD grab to best Moment/Play per bnb's wishes.

Other nominees I've come up with best offensive performance after going through some of my Moneyball reviews:

Michael Turner (Week 4): 13 carries, 103 yds, 3 rec., 68 yds, 1 TD; $17 earned
Julio Jones (Week 8): 5 catches, 123 yds, 1 TD; $10
Roddy White (Week 16): 10 catches, 153 yds, 2 TDs; $14

Defensive Performance:

Jonathan Babineaux (Week 9): 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 PD; $5.5 earned
Sean Weatherspoon (Week 15): 9 tackles, 1 QB hit; $3.5 earned

I like all those picks except Turner because it was against Carolina and its pretty irrelevant.

Roddy's 47-yd TD catch, Quizz's 45-yard run, and Bryant's 49-yard field goal probably all deserve to be added to the Best Play/Moment of the Year.

Maybe watching Tony Gonzalez cry during his post-game interview with Laura Okmin should be added.
