Here are some other players that stood out to me as teams announce their cuts:
DT Rodney Bailey (good pass rusher as a 3-4 DE, I think he can play UT or NT in the 4-3) DT Mario Fatafehi (tough run stopper, would be a better option than Lake. starter for Broncos) RB Quentin Griffin (quick RB that knows our blocking style, good potential to replace Dunn down the road) FB Jon Ritchie (one of hte better lead blockers in the league, ex-Eagle and upgrade over McCrary) TE Walter Rasby (solid blocking TE, cheaper than Beverly) LB Ray Thompson (speed outside linebacker, can boost depth, ex-starter) LB Nate Wayne (knows Donatell's defense, ex-starter) LB Richard Seigler (quick LB, could be a good fit behind Hartwell) OT Derrick Deese (vet fits Gibbs style well, good backup behind SHaffer) CB/S Willie Middlebrooks (better fit as a FS, but offers size at CB off the bench) WR Jerome Pathon (speedy wideout can be effective in slot) DT Tony Williams (solid interior pass rusher, could be good in rotaiton)
Rookies
OL Chris Myers (athletic guy can play all 5 OL spots, good fit for Gibbs style) OT Wesley Britt (many here thought he should have been our 3rd round pick) OT Wes Sims (another athletic OT, coulda been ours late in the draft) S Ernest Shazor (big S/LB hybrid)
I think if the Falcons signed any one of those veterans, they could really help the team this year and in future years. Any of the rookies would be good options on the practice squad.
