FINALLY!!!!!!!

Postby FalconsAreTheBest » Thu Sep 08, 2005 1:27 pm

NFL football is here!!! The games actually matter now!!!

So who you guys got tonight? I say pats unless Collins and Moss get in a rythm. Remember Collins is one of the best deep ball throwers in the league. And Moss & Porter and I think that equals success. Of course the poor Rayda's D has to stop the pats but still......

And we better win on monday....I dont think I could live with my college team losing their opener and my NFL team losing their opener.

I'm goona go out on a limb here and say that Oakland wins tonight. I think they might be able to jump out to a lead and at least win in a shoot out. I have all the respect in the world for the Pats, but I think the changes they've gone through over the offseason will talk a couple of games to get used to. I think Moss will be ready to go out and show off for his new team.

As for us on Monday, we better win. I am an eternal optimist until after the first game. Until the Falcons give me a reason to doubt them I won't. (I know, I know, I'm a homer) I really think it's completely logical that we have a great chance of showing up the Iggles on Monday Night.

I'm also going to say Oakland takes this game. Kerry Collins was good last year with an average overall receiving unit but this year he has Moss to work with?! The O-Line could keep Collins from making a Manning impersination and if the Pats can get a good pass rush they should win. I also think that LaMont Jordan is the darkhorse RB of the year. He could very well perform like Duece in Oakland.

BTW the "ESPN Expert Picks" for the Falcons/Iggles game:

Falcons Win: Theismann, Salisbury, Hoge, Allen, Golic
Iggles Win: Jaworski, Schlereth, Mortenson

Theismen and Salisbury picking us is pretty close to the kiss of death.

I [radio edit] hate Jaws. ESPN pays him to suck the iggs ballsack.

Plus I hate looking at his face because hes in like every local commecial around here.

IT MAKES ME WANNA SCREAM

Big surprise Jaworski picked against us........and the fact that Theismann and Salisbury picked us is sort of unsettling.

And by the way I really, really don't like Sean Salisbury, he is by far the biggest douchebag on ESPN, and the only person out of all the NFL color commentatotrs that can give Cris Collingworth a run for his title as Douchebag of the Universe

Douchebag of the Universe

South Park reference? heh

John Edward won it according to them. (the guy who claims to talk to ghosts/dead people, NOT the senator from NC)

I think Chris Collingsworth has John Edwards beat (although just marginally).

Unfortunately most of the ESPN 'analysts' are tools. The only one that thinks for himself is Steve Young. I do have respect for Schlereth and Golic both are lineman and both still have a brain in that cabinet.

I like Golic a lot. Schlereth is pretty good too. It's seems that the only good announcers are the O-lineman. I know Linc Kennedy does well on NFL network.

colin cowhert (sp?) is the funniest radio personality ever.
i'm screwed in Augusta though. we had foxsports radio and i was listening to tony bruno. it got switched to a christian channel. i started listening to espn radio until it got switched over to a mexican station. LOL play golf while you're in Augusta a keep driving afterwards.

i have no idea who will win. we will see how important Bellichek's coordinator's were to him tonight. a good quote from Charlie Weiss when asked about his talent level at ND "I can promise you one thing, we will never be outschemed." that's screams bad@ss coach to me.

Being a Vancouver native I got to listen to Colin Cowherd ever since 1998 on 910 The FAN (which has changed dial location about 17 times now) and as the lead sports anchor for Channel 8 (KGW - NBC). He was awesome locally although he got a bit eccentric as his career improved. He's still good and best of all very football centric.

Pats, instead of taking advantage of the new vulnerabilities in the Pats middle, the Raiders are going to try too hard to go deep to Moss n Porter & it will backfire enough for Brady to make them pay. Plus the Raiders D will have a tough time stopping Dillon.

This is the only way the Pats win tonight. I don't think their DB's are good enough to handle Moss & Porter on the wings with Collins fire cannon shot downfield. LaMont Jordan should be good enough to keep the heat off Collins if he gets rolling early.

wow. 2 things stick out to me.

there are posts saying "the only way the pats win is" and others saying "the only way the falcons win is" hehe

we ARE talking about the Raiders here. who is their coach again?

Also the Eagles aren't men of steel. we have 2 weaknesses, pass protection and coverage. their big ones, but with another year of continuity those 2 units might come together.

we'll see this year how good Moss truly is.

I'm going to say the Pats win because I just don't think the Raiders have any semblance of a defense...
