Falcons added CB Leigh Torrence and LB Martin Patterson; then signed CB Amad Treaudo to the practice squad to replace Torrence (Patterson was a UFA).
Torrence, 6-0, 183 pounds, has spent all five weeks this season on the Falcons practice squad after being claimed by Atlanta off waivers on September 4, 2005. A three-year starter at Stanford, Torrence was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 29, 2005.
Patterson, 6-1, 243 pounds, was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 24, 2005. He spent training camp with the Eagles before being released during the final roster cut down on September 3. During his four-year career at Texas Christian, Patterson totaled 289 tackles, 5.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one interception.
Treaudo, 5-10, 181, spent the first week of the 2005 season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad after spending training camp with the New York Giants. Originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 6, 2005 by the Giants, Treaudo led the nation last year with nine interceptions for 166 yards and one touchdown.
Note: Hartwell is 6'1" 250lbs and Patterson is 6'1" 243lbs. At least we have someone the same size.
