TSN "Problem Spot"

Postby MarylandFalcon1 » Fri Oct 14, 2005 9:05 pm

Here is what The Sporting News said this week in regards to our WRs.

"The Team needs to light a fire under WRs Michael Jenkins and Dez White. Jenkins doesn't always run his routes aggressively, and White had lapses in concentration that cost him two chatches against the Patriots. Brian Finneran deserves a starting job over Jenkins. Rookie Roddy White has the ability to take Dez White's job, but his inexperience - he continues to make wrong reads - is an issue"

Wow, never thought I would see them asking for a Finneran/R. White starter set for the Falcons... but boy I like the sound of it

MF1
"I am certainly not afraid to have Brian Finneran on the field. Has he ever not made plays? He just makes plays. He is one of those guys that just makes plays. He is dependable."

okay so anyone think this will actually happen within this season? i sure do. my guess (or perhaps hope) is 3/4's into the season finn and roddy will be the starters. finn has proven himself, the man should be starting. as for roddy white, his time has not come just yet but i see him overtaking jenkins, who i think will show up for one game and dissappear for two.

I, personally, don't think that will happen this season. Maybe, Finneran might be a starter, but I just think the WR coach is that smart...it seems like he isn't even watching the game...Looking at Finneran's last game...if he doesnt start, I am going to be extremely dissapointed

Wow that writer knows nothing. No way do I sit Jenkins who has proven to be a scary deep threat when we actually are willing to go up top to him.

I'd be surprised if Finneran doesn't start at least 2 or 3 more games for the rest of the year. Roddy starting? Doubtful, unless more than 1 major injury occurs.

Notice The Sporting News writes this & a few days later the AJC writes a relevant article on how much the WR's are improved this year...lol

I will trust the AJC over The Baseball News...err, Sporting I mean.

Right now Finneran is the best receiver on this team and the only receiver with real chemistry with Mike Vick. He should start an dhe should do so for the rest of the season. Jenkins & White aren't getting it done.
