If the Saints move to LA... how do you think the league would structure the NFC South?

I know it doesn't have to be geographic (we used to be in the West), but do you think they would change the divisions?

Maybe they would move LA to the West and St. Louis to the South?

Or maybe LA to the West, St. Louis to the East, and Dallas to the South?

Several posibilities... what do you guys think? What would you want?

the flight to St Louis is 3 hours i believe. I'd rather fly 2 more hours and play a weaker team.

I believe that Atlanta to LA is a 6.5 hour flight. I know from Portland to Atlanta it is an 8 hour flight and we are roughly 1.5 hours north of LA in flight time.

Any given season I think the Falcons have at least two long range flights anyways. I personally think the excuse that flying from Atlanta to San Francisco was taxing on the players is BS. You are on a posh airliner during the flight and on the ground for the whole of two days.

I don't think the league would realign. The Saints-Falcons-Panthers have been together a long time. And I think the league recognizes at least with the Falcons-Saints rivalry that it goes back over 30 years. Of course it's not he same as the Redskins-Cowboys or Bears-Packers, but I don't think the league would disrupt such a rivalry, especially when new ones are already forming with the latest realignment in the west.

Also think about how "weak" the NFC West would be without St. Louis. The 49ers are down and out, the Cardinals can never be relied upon by the league to be a consistent winner. So that just leaves the Saints and Seahawks, two more teams that are historical losers.

I'd rather see the Saints move to San Antonio, but the league has been working for a decade to get a team in L.A., and they'd do everything in their power to block a move to San Antonio.

Would the Saints rename themselves the Angels if they moved to L.A.?

And the Saints would change names and uniforms if they did move. I know New Orleans is trying to get the NFL to let them keep the name and colors so they can do an expansion when the city is back up and running.

The Saints moving is a forgone conclusion the where is the big question.

I would also go as far as to say that the rivalry is more Atlanta vs. New Orleans is more a city thing then a football thing. I'm not from either and I don't see them as a big rivalry outside of being the #1 challanger for "worst in the league" for years. Now we've left them in the dust and the real rivalry is with Tampa.
