Iupati has workout lined up with Falcons

March 23rd, 2010

Chris Steuber of Scout.com reports that the Falcons will be checking out Idaho guard Mike Iupati in an upcoming workout between now and the draft. A specified scheduled date is unknown at the time. But Iupati is widely considered to be the top interior linemen in the entire draft.

According to Steuber, at least 14 teams have either already conducted a workout with Iupati or will do so before the draft.

Iupati is a massive blocker measuring 6’6″ 324 at his recent pro day. Per NFL Draft Scout.com, Iupati ran a 5.24 40 at the Combine in February. He also did 27 bench reps of 225 pounds, measured a 27.5-inch vertical leap, 7 foot-8 inch borad jump, 4.93 short shuttle, and 7.85 three-cone drill.

Recent reports indicate that the Falcons are interested in upgrading their interior line and Iupati certainly could do that as a potential first round pick.
