I am joined by Rise Up Reader’s Michael Aprile to recap the Falcons’ Week 9 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Mike gives his general impressions watching the game and what he heard from the Falcon players in the locker room afterward. We try to diagnose why the Falcons are unable to finish and why they aren’t connecting on the deep pass. We discuss the issues surrounding the run game including Devonta Freeman’s injury and Tevin Coleman’s usage. We also dive into whether the no-huddle offense could help bolster the offense. Mike shares some of the players’ insights into the defensive preparation for the Panthers and whether they were caught off guard, what caused some of the breakdowns and whether the arrow is pointing upwards for this young defense. They finish the show by discussing whether the Falcons signing Byron Maxwell makes sense.
Mike is the founder of Rise Up Reader and the co-host of the site’s podcast. He also is a correspondent for The Falcoholic and does their post-game recap podcast. You can check out his article including many of the post-game quotes from the players by clicking here.
