Austin William Pasztor was born on November 26, 1990 in Langton, Ontario, Canada. He attended Glendale High in Tillsonburg, Ontario before transferring to Fork Union (VA) Military Academy for his senior season. As a true freshman at Virginia, he started the final eight games of the year at left guard. He remained the starter at left guard as a sophomore, starting all 12 games. He started all 12 games at left guard as a junior. He started all 13 games at left guard as a senior, earning first-team All-ACC and second-team All-American honors. He was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted rookie free agent following the 2012 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2012 CFL Draft.
